Creative pursuits of all kinds can be fragile. People who do creative things inevitably doubt themselves. They doubt their ability, for some reason we always let the negative voices in out head tell us we aren’t good enough.
Then you look around at others who have accomplished what you want to accomplish and it seems hopeless.
Don’t get me wrong, I mostly believe in myself, I believe I have a calling to work on certain things in this life. But sometimes that confidence, that drive wanes. I believe these dreams/goals/visions/passions are there for a reason, and they are pointing me (and you with yours) in the direction we should move towards.
A big wave of doubt and self-defeatist talk seems to come around when you embark on a new goal. You just have to remind yourself why you are attempting the thing you are attempting.
And most importantly, when you fall off the path, get back on. Remember there is a reason you feel led in particular direction. And trust me, from my own experience, ignoring that calling is much more unpleasant than following the calling and not succeeding. Much more tormenting.
