People Centered People

people centered people

The caretakers, healers and keepers of the hearth keep us together, keep things running and advance our lives and the enlightenment of all in incremental but steady ways. These are the people centered people of the world. They have a variety of interactions with people: small talk, offering compliments, asking questions, subtly encouraging others even in the most minimal of interactions. Because of this, they tend to adjust their tone, style and the content of what they are saying to suit the person they are dealing with. These are the joiners and volunteers, the approachable people with good attitudes and exemplary manners. They stay current on news, politics, culture. They tend to hide their own needs, flaws and insecurities to the point that nobody notices they have needs. In the contemporary world they are also drawn to technology because of its ability to bring us together. They need to make sure they keep their observant eyes on their surroundings and not always glued to a phone or screen, ears open to hear the hum of the universe instead of always stuffed with headphones.

Don’t doubt that you are loved and admired by those around you. Your magnetism and selfless intentions are noticed. Indeed, sometimes these qualities come on too strongly to others not as emotionally fine-tuned as you are. Honor the connections you have with all the souls you encounter, but make sure you respect your own gifts and talents enough to be able to do the spirit work you have been called to do. Whatever aspect of life you find yourself involved in, remember that serving and healing will always be part of it. In order to do those things, you have to be able to trust your own gifts, that what you have is valid and of immeasurable use to others.

Motivation: People “who need people” truly are motivated and rewarded in feeling connected to other people in a meaningful way. Without this connection, these people will feel unwanted and as if they cannot contribute or even belong. This is the dark underside of the seemingly extroverted people person, who may or may not have a naturally outgoing and confident nature. Goals, ideas, results and intense pursuits are only measured by these people in terms of how much they bring people, groups and ideas together.

Lessons to Learn for People Centered People:

  • Learn how to ask for emotional support, or any kind of help for that matter, when you need it. You are so good at helping others and projecting that strong, supportive energy that others may not be able to see that you too have needs.
  • You cannot exist without giving in some way; to do this, you have to have a reason. So sometimes you have to work to keep the motivation to keep plugging along, giving and serving and loving.
  • You also need validation that what you are doing is worthwhile in the big picture. If you don’t get that authentically, you can tend to seek it in unhealthy ways or ways that are not solid. Learn to listen to your own voice to know the difference.
  • Create some barriers, a fire wall, to prevent emotional depletion, burn out and physical exhaustion. The key is finding the right balance between caring for others versus caring for yourself.
  • You need to be involved, and probably more involved than you are, but in a meaningful way. Choose the things that call you on the deepest levels. Let other things fall away.

Healers Spiritually Seeking:

Connections of all kinds are important. In the mundane world, this is about connections to other people and to animals. On a higher level, it is about feeling connected to places, the environment in general, and having a sense of place in the larger universe.
