Universal theme overview

Purpose is a child in the Universal themes series and is a member of the Spiritual theme family. This is a theme overview post.

Purpose is the reason something exists. The key to who or what the thing is and was meant to be. Every choice or action gets you closer to that reason.

Big ideas

  • You are here for a reason.
  • Your purpose is your intention.
  • If you ignore your purpose. you will be out of balance and will feel off.
  • Your intuition is your guide to finding and staying on purpose.
  • Planning is a useful tool for life, but there is no guarantee.

Purpose key concepts

  • Big ideas are the overarching themes that help illuminate the purpose of something. They are complex in their simplicity.
  • Boundaries are things that indicate a border or limit. We set a structure on our physical space, as well as our relationships, our energies and our creativities.
  • Integrity is adherence to a code of behavior or principles. It is the purity of being fully aligned with your beliefs and purpose.
  • An intention is a design for something. What something is meant to be or to convey. If everything has a purpose, then everything has a built-in intention.
  • Intuition is your own higher voice, emanating from your source. You know yourself, what is right and best for you. Nurture it and it will be your biggest ally.
  • Meaning is what an idea represents, what gives significance to thoughts, people and movements. Meaning helps you find the use of everything.
  • A mission is a duty, and we only undertake a duty when we feel it is necessary. We take it seriously and work to see it become a reality.
  • Planning is steps taken to prepare for doing something. You work out the method or steps before attempting to do something. It helps you home in on why you are doing something.
  • Specifics are particulars, and they differentiate ideas from all others. The more detailed our purpose, values and planning, the more we really understand them.
  • Something that is wrong is not correct. Unacceptable or undesirable in a moral, social, legal, or with accepted custom or usage.
