The silence, the quiet here has been wonderful. I find myself craving the silence, the slight cool air, The only welcome sound is of birds chirping; other sounds, such as a motorboat, household sounds, sound of a movie on television, even Fred’s conversation, make me feel uncomfortable. I need this silence, this healing meeting of the elements. Here I feel that I am okay, that I am where I need to be.I need to rest and sleep and quiet. Right now I have little want, need or indeed tolerance for anything else.
I have so many things to figure out, to repair, to heal, to understand. Acceptance of that, along with my own modes and forms of energy, my own special path. I am so blessed that this trip was possible. I have blessings of so many kinds, and i must use this quiet to remember those. It does bother me that I’ve made a big mess because I know it has affected others. The lack of noise is the only way I have found to begin to accept the wrongs and to begin to release that energy.
Here it is easy to feel centered, on purpose and okay when in such a beautiful natural spot with ample food and shelter. The feeling of a wide expanse of nature and the opportunity to commune with it in a private relationship with the expansive power of the earth. Such a state is provided by allowing the silence in, and while this is a temporary state, it is necessary. 6/27/2004
Silence Meanings:
Silence is: stillness, reticence, quiet, repressive, muted, ceasing, unceasing, centering, absent, nothing, everything.
Silence is usually defined as an absence of things, like noise or sound. This state of noiselessness, where things are quiet and still, is associated with both calmness and secrecy. It is a state you are encouraged to go to find answers, but can also be a place where nothing exists. To be silenced means your voice has been taken away. So silence is really a place where nothing is audible. If the sounds that have been muted are clutter, then you can hear your true inner voice. But if the truth is what has been omitted, then a state of censorship has been created.
Only when you spend time existing in embracing silence can you begin to hear your calling, only then will you hear your spirit telling you what it needs. External silence allows for the sometimes deafening noise of the inner life.
